CrossOver updates and brings even more games to the Mac

If you are looking for a way to use apps Windows on Macs with apple processor, perhaps you can fall back on CrossOver, which doesn’t allow you to install Microsoft’s operating system on Apple computers, like Parallels Desktop or other solutions do, but offers a streamlined way to overcome compatibility barriers.

This process is possible thanks to Wine, a program that allows you to use programs developed for Windows on other operating systems, and the latest update of CrossOver, which arrived at version 24is particularly interesting as it builds on the last one Wine 9.0 and brings numerous new features.

Among these, the best support for the execution of 32-bit apps on the latest versions of macOS, which are only 64-bit since Apple removed support for 32-bit software from macOS Catalina.

Furthermore CrossOver 24 brings greater compatibility to games, as well as support for Vulkan, multiple displays and High-DPI scalability.

Other updates include an easier way to launch executable simply dragging them in CrossOveror even creating a launch icon by clicking on Save command as launcher. Finally, fixes have been added for running Windows apps from Office 365.

But we were talking about gods games, one of the flagships of CrossOver, that last year with the version 23 of the program had added the expected support for the API DirectX 12 in order to obtain better graphics performance.

In CrossOver 24the developer said that fixes for many games have also been included, such as:

  • Planet Zoo now it works again after the latest game update
  • Warframes: now the launcher now works
  • The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth it doesn’t crash anymore
  • Mafia: Definitive Edition now works
  • The multiplayer Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition it works again
  • Horizon Zero Dawn And Year 1800 they work fine now

The developers claim that CrossOver 24 was released in record time, but that’s just the beginning and they plan to release many great new features soon.
