Google Play Books is one of the latest Google apps to receive the Material You. Let’s talk about new graphical interface which we have seen arriving for a few years now, both on the latest versions of Android and in the main Google apps.
The screenshot that you find in the gallery show what the Play Libri app looks like after receiving the update which introduces Material You.
There search bar top has been updated to make it consistent with the Material You, and now appears absolutely similar to the search bars we find in other apps of Google, like the Play Store. Also the position indicator in the bottom navigation bar has been updated.
The Library section now offers indicators of updated filters, which offer a rectangular profile with rounded edges. The background of the contents list is not consistent with that of the top bar, and it is not clear whether this is something intentional or whether a further update is missing to standardize it.
We also find a similar interface update for the sections Wishlist And Shop. Currently we see that the entire app uses the color accent in blueregardless of the system one.
The news we have just seen are in the distribution phase with the latest version of the Play Books app on Android, corresponding to version 2024.2.9.0, currently rolling out through the Play Store. Below you will find the button to check if you have received the update.
