In recent years, in the mobile telephony segment we have seen the concept of eSIMs, i.e. digital SIMs that can substitute in all respects the classic physical SIMs.

At this point all major operators active in the Italian market have implemented eSIM support, offering their customers to activate mobile offers via eSIM. These are available to both those who activate one new offer and to those who already have an active offer but want switch to eSIMs.

Activating eSIMs involves a cost, exactly as happens with the physical SIM cards that we know well. And precisely in these terms some news has arrived from Fastweb Mobileone of the operators that offers support for eSIMs on the Italian scene.

It’s about positive news for Fastweb Mobile customers, given that it consists of a cost reduction planned for the generation of a new eSIM in replacement of one already used.

In fact, Fastweb Mobile currently expects its eSIMs to be activated for a period of time maximum number of 6 times. This means that, after the first activation, Fastweb Mobile customers will be able to move the eSIM to a different device a maximum of 5 times. These operations are usually carried out when you change phone.

At the end of the 6 activations it will be necessary regenerate the eSIM, generating a new QR code to activate the eSIM. This previously cost 14.99 euros for Fastweb Mobile customers. However, the operator has just announced that the eSIM replacement cost goes down to 4.99 euros.
