The Play Store lets you uninstall apps remotely: here’s how

The Play Store is the nerve center for all apps for Android devices, starting with smartphones and tablets. Over the last few years we have seen Google dedicate particular time and resources to its updating.

The Play Store has indeed seen a graphical interface progressively renewed and updated, together with software news arrive over time. And precisely in this context, we talk to you about the latest news arriving on the Play Store.

Google has in fact introduced a new uninstallation mode of apps from Android devices. It is in fact the possibility of uninstall an app remotely, or to uninstall it from a device other than the one on which it is installed. We are obviously talking about devices connected to the same Google accountwhich must then be the one from which you access the Play Store to proceed with the remote uninstallation.

The new feature therefore provides that users can uninstall apps from devices they are not currently using. Among the categories of compatible devices with this functionality we not only find smartphones, but also Google TV, smartwatches, PCs and Android Auto.

This feature makes a lot of sense precisely for these categories of devices other than smartphones, for which uninstalling an app could be complicated.

Let’s think for example of Google TV devices, for which accessing the Play Store or System Settings to uninstall an installed app It’s not exactly immediate, since you are forced to use a remote control. The same goes for smartwatches.

The new option is available within the section Manage apps of the Play Store, from which it is possible select the app to uninstall and then, via the menu that appears from below, select the device from which to uninstall it. Obviously only the devices connected to your personal Google account will be shown.

The new thing we just saw was enabled for the occasion from SpAndroid. At the moment we have no news of users who received it without manually enabling it. However, we expect that it will arrive for everyone within the next few weeks.
