Android 15 does an about-face: that’s why the DP1 was withdrawn

Android 15 has just started to walk on its own legs, with the first Developer Preview released last week by Google for its Pixels. Even though it was a very immature version, we didn’t expect gods such problems to force Google to withdraw.

In fact, in the last few hours Google has made it known that it has temporarily disabled the ability to download i OTA files to install Android 15 DP1 on compatible Pixels, due to a quite significant bug.

There would indeed be gods problems with sideloading of Android 15 (in this article we have described how to install Android 15 by sideloading the OTA file). This problem results in a error message which prevents the operating system from starting once installed, forcing users to go back to the previous version of Android via factory image.

It would therefore be a problem that It’s essentially about installation of Android 15 DP1 via OTA file, and not a problem that affects the operating system itself.

In fact, Google recommends installing, if necessary, Android 15 DP1 via its factory image.

We remind you that installation via factory image is the procedure more complexsince it presupposes unlocking the bootloader and the reset to the factory data of the device.

The fact is that this is currently the case the only option to test Android 15 DP1 on compatible Pixels. It is a temporary withdrawaltherefore we expect that Google is working to solve the problem with sideloading OTA files, and then restoring the download links of the same.
