Android 15 is official: here’s when the beta and stable version arrive

Google just made it official Android 15releasing the first Developer Preview which can already provide us with an overview that we will see with the new version of Android. Now we can also see when they will arrive the next major updates for Android 15.

Google has in fact announced the release plan for the next Android 15 updates before stable version. The figure you find right below summarizes everything.

So these are the main stages which will accompany Android 15 from the first Developer Preview launched today until the release of the stable:

  • Developer Preview 1the one released today and compatible with Pixel 6 and later models.
  • Developer Preview 2, with release expected in March. It should include new APIs, more Android features.
  • Android 15 Beta 1, with release expected in April. This will be the first version of Android 15 that can be received via OTA. Pixel 6 and later models will be compatible.
  • Android 15 Beta 2with release expected in May.
  • Android 15 Beta 3, with release expected in June. This will be the version with the definitive API, the first in the Platform Stability category.
  • Android 15 Beta 4, with release expected in July. This should correspond to the last public beta before the release of the stable version.
  • Stable Android 15, with a release not yet announced. This should happen at the end of the summer season. Last year, with Android 14, Google announced a similar timeline, only to then launch a fifth beta that was initially not planned. This pushed the release of the stable to October, a month after what was initially announced.

In short, the road to Android 15 is just been traced.
