There are some bad news for those who have a Xiaomi smartphone (we remind you of our collection of the best smartphones divided by price range). The Chinese company mistakenly distributed a software update, with which it introduced a very relevant bug.

The bug in question causes the bootloop of Xiaomi smartphones. By bootloop we mean the annoying situation in which the smartphone it restarts continuouslywithout being able to be used. Bootloop often requires a fresh installation of the operating system to fix.

This appears to be the case for Xiaomi users who have been affected by the bug. Everything would have arisen from an update released by Xiaomi via MIUI GetAppswith which a new interface plugin would be released. It seems that, obviously by mistake, a plugin was released not compatible with MIUI that we find on Xiaomi smartphones. This is where the bootloop comes from.

Most likely, smartphones that have received such a plugin they can no longer start correctly MIUI precisely because of this plugin is not compatible with Xiaomi’s software interface for its smartphones.

Xiaomi itself he acknowledged the problem by releasing a tweet about X to warn its users. The update in question has been removed, but nothing can be done for those who had already installed it. Xiaomi reports that the number of users affected by the bug is smalleven if relevant figures on the spread of the bug emerge online.

Xiaomi also clarified that do not take absolutely personal initiatives to resolve the bug, i.e. do not attempt DIY solutions. Users who are experiencing the problem should instead contact one of the after-sales support centers of Xiaomi, which we assume will install a new version of MIUI without the offending plugin. We don’t know if the resolution procedure involves resetting the device.

The bug in question could also affect models redmi And LITTLE with MIUI. We expect that it will not affect models that are already updated to HyperOScurrently available for Xiaomi 14.
