The update involving YouTube Music comes with an interesting new feature that allows you to recognize musical pieces. We are talking about the function that allows you to identify a song from the music recorded by the phone’s microphone, but also from the tune hummed by the user.
As you can see from the screenshots below, the new feature appears when you select the search bar within the YouTube Music app. The new option is marked from the icon a musical wave. After selecting this icon you can try to search for the song you are listening to to identify it.
It is still a function that bases its entire efficiency on the volume that the phone’s microphone can record while listening. If the surrounding environment is very noisy, then the recognition is probably not perfect.
The recognition should take place with the support of artificial intelligence, just as is done for the same function in YouTube.
According to what has been leaked so far, the new feature does not include rescue of searches in a dedicated section, as happens with other rivals of YouTube Music. That’s not to say does not happen in the future However.
