Goodbye confusion: here’s how Google Maps will show the entrance to a building

A February full of events has just ended changes for Google Maps. Of the latest additions that have enriched the app, we particularly remember the weather and the possibility of monitoring air quality, but we are already starting to look to the future. In fact, among upcoming news on the horizon, it looks like Big G is working onadding an icon which signals the various entrances to a given place to users. (here is our guide on how to enter coordinates on Google Maps).

As reported by Android Police, the entrances in question are displayed on the map by white circular iconswith inside them a green symbol. From the images you can see them well two different types of circular icons but at the moment the difference is not clear. From the tests carried out, the icons appear only when the location is selected and sufficiently enlarged in the map (the building or business in question, is also highlighted in red).

Tests have been carried out on different types of buildings (such as hotels, supermarkets, restaurants, bars and doctors’ offices in the cities of Las Vegas, San Francisco and Berlin) but not everybody the entrances have been displayed, given that we are most likely still in a data collection phase. Finally, during the test, it turned out that some places had errors in the representation of entrances, especially buildings small size.

This novelty appeared with the last version of the Google Maps application (11.117.0101) and is available only for some users.
