Some interesting news is coming to Google Maps, Google’s popular mapping and navigation platform. This is a novelty that will especially benefit those who use the navigator directly from your smartphone.
The images we find below show what it is. Let’s talk about quick directions for Google Maps. These directions are shown directly on the navigation path previewthat is to say before starting navigation itself.
As you can see from Images that we have uploaded, this functionality allows you to have information on navigation, i.e. on any turning points to travel and updated arrival times if in the meantime we had moved from the starting point. We find this way of receiving navigation information very helpful especially when consulting the navigation route on foot.
Furthermore, Google Maps now also allows you to consult updated navigation information from the lock screenalthough is not actually started navigation from the app.
The news we just saw it is not enabled by default. Whoever received it should see it in the Maps app settings, by accessing the section Navigation settings. At that point it will be necessary to activate the defined option Quick directions while navigating.
The new Quick Directions feature is currently during automatic distribution on the app Android and on that iOS of Google Maps. Below you will find the direct buttons to download or update the app from the respective stores.
