iPhone 16 Pro prepares a surprise for the screen (and a disappointment)

Let’s start with the news that had already leaked in September, namely the arrival of a camera with telephoto tetraprismatic a 120 mm on the models iPhone 16 Pro And iPhone 16 Pro Max (and not just on the larger model like this year).

Ming-Chi Kuo has in fact shared a report regarding the supplier of this type of periscope lenses, Largan, revealing its expedition prospects for the end of the year and for the 2024.

With regard to the last quarter of 2023, the Taiwanese company has significantly improved the assembly yield of this component (it has exclusivity for the iPhone 15 Pro Max), which went from 40% to 70%, finally making it profitable.

This, combined with shipments higher than expected of high-end Android phones, allows shipments to be revised upwards, which will go from an underestimate (according to Kuo) of 130-140 to around 150.

For 2024, the well-known analyst predicts that Apple will incorporate the new camera in its smaller Pro models, resulting in a growth of 160% on an annual basis in iPhones with the technology.

Furthermore, according to Kuo Apple And Huawei (with the P70 series) will be the two additional brands rapid growth in global shipments of periscope camera smartphones for the coming year.

The analyst predicts that Largan will be the main supplier of periscope lenses for the two brands, with shares respectively of 85-90% for the apple company and 50-60% for the Chinese giant, and that orders for this component will increase by 130%, with a consequent increase in profitability.

From the South Korea instead, a report arrives that sheds some light on the screen sizes and refresh rates of the next ones iPhone 16, 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro And 16 Pro Max.

According to the Naver blog, the new iPhone 16 And 16 Plus will maintain the same dimensions as the previous generation, while the models Pro they will receive a raise of surface. Bad confirmation however regarding the update frequencywhich will not be updated.

The report reveals that iPhone 16 will have a 6.12-inch LTPS 60Hz panel, while iPhone 16 Plus it will feature a 6.69-inch LTPS 60Hz drive.

Both will be equipped with the Dynamic Islandjust like this year, while for the Pro Motion display we will have to wait iPhone 17 And iPhone 17 Plus.

The biggest changes will arrive with the Pro models. iPhone 16 Pro it will in fact be equipped with a display 6.27 inch LTPO slightly higher, while iPhone 16 Pro Max (or Ultra?) will sport a 6.86-inch LTPO panel. Both will unfortunately retain the update rate of 60Hz.

The report confirms that Apple will continue to equip smartphones in the series Pro of Dynamic Island and will therefore not move to single hole, despite rumors of tests to this effect.

Moving on to others rumor, it seems that the apple company wants to improve the thermal management (sore point of the current iPhone 15 Pro) by introducing a heat sink to the graphene instead of the current one in copper, and the next iPhone 16 Pro is expected to feature the A18 Pro chip.
