OnePlus Watch 2 will have the largest battery compared to (almost) all Google and Samsung alternatives

One of the fundamental aspects to take into consideration before buying a smartwatch is undoubtedly autonomy. OnePlus in fact, for its Watch 2seems to have placed one there particular attention according to what emerged from the latest statements. The 100 hours of battery life (in Smart mode) declared by the company, if confirmed during actual use, would guarantee record autonomy for the smartwatch, especially in the Wear OS category.

In the few days that separate us from the launch, we have the opportunity to compare it with the competition actual battery size on the Watch 2. The data emerged after the product was submitted to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission).

From the information it emerged that Watch 2 will mount a 500 mAh battery. Taking a look at the current marketwe will notice that the OnePlus smartwatch will have a battery 64% bigger compared to the Pixel Watch 2 and almost greater by 20% compared to the Galaxy Watch 6 version 44 mm.

However, to ”oust” the Watch 2 from the top step of the podium, there is still the 2022 Galaxy Watch 5 Pro: who currently remains unbeaten with his team 590mAh.

In this context, the 100 hours of autonomy declared are at least optimistic. Whether this goal is achieved will most likely depend on combos processor-optimization software, since Samsung for its Watch 5 Pro had declared 80 hours of battery life (with its customized version of Wear OS+Exynos).

We also know from the FCC listing that the OnePlus Watch 2 will carry the model number OPWWE231 and will have the FCC markings on the bottom of the clock. Finally the device will use a charging system via pin and, as reported by MySmartPrice, the nominal charging speed will be 10W. However, no further data has emerged regarding the definitive confirmation of Wear OS or the presence of LTE.
