The Chinese brand is indeed celebrating ten years of activity and even if the new device does not seem to represent that disruptive novelty compared to the predecessor that perhaps such an event would deserve, the reasons of interest are numerous, starting from design.
In fact, as revealed by the well-known Evan Blass on X (and by OnePlus itself on Weibo), the new OnePlus 12 will present a style similar to the rather controversial one of OnePlus 11but with two important differences.
First of all, the camera block it will be the same color of the back cover, and this, in glass, will not only be available in three color variants, Flowy Emerald, Rock Black And White, but also of textures.
If in fact the white It has a smooth and shiny surface, the coloring green has an elegant marbled surface, while the black It has a matte and satin surface.
For this reason, apart from the color itself, never like this time also the type of texture it profoundly defines the aesthetics of the device. The renderings shared by the well-known leaker they also offer a glimpse of the new ones wallpapers in theme, which recall the world of minerals as the name of the colors suggests.
As for the specifications of the new device, there are not many indications. It seems practically the presence of the new processor is certain Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3while the most interesting news are reserved for photographic sectorwith a new sensor Sony LYT-808 for the 50-megapixel main camera (developed in collaboration with OnePlus and advertised as the “best in its class”) and a periscope telephoto lens with 3X zoom and 64 megapixel sensor.
The latter objective is produced using a new cutting-edge process, which further improves its performance, while continuing the collaboration with Hasselblad, as specified by the “H” on the camera block.
To accompany the two sensors, there is also an ultra wide-angle camera 48MP.

In any case, it is not the 17the day on which would be the anniversary of the company’s founding and probably the reason why OnePlus has anticipated the presentation of the device. In fact, the brand has always defined its “date of birth” as the December 17th 2013.
We have no information regarding the global launch, but if the first rumor they had suggested a date around January 2024now some information retrieved from Engadget indicates the December 15th as a possible launch date.
