AI messages are coming to Android Auto: how they work
A new feature has just arrived on Android Auto that will certainly make a difference in daily use. Let’s talk about AI messagesor Android Auto’s ability to summarize the long messages automatically with the support of artificial intelligence.
This innovation was presented last January, as part of the launch of the new Galaxy S24. What are called Android Auto AI messages finally they seem to be peeking out among users who use Google’s infotainment system.
The image you find below shows where it will be possible to enable the option to receive summaries of long messages generated with artificial intelligence. Google does not specify which model machine learning uses generative for this functionality, but specifies that it will work for all messages they contain at least 40 words.
Currently the feature it doesn’t seem to work correctly. The option can already be activated from the section Notifications of Android Auto settings, although summaries don’t seem to start automatically for long messages received on Android Auto.
It should also be possible to reply directly to Assistant if reproduce or not AI-generated summaries.
The functionality to summarize long messages with artificial intelligence on Android Auto will be provided via Google Assistant, which is still at the center of the user experience on Android Auto, while Google Gemini is becoming increasingly popular on the smartphone platform.
AI summaries of messages will consist of quite marked synthesis, or even of a single period, long texts with at least 40 words. It remains to be seen whether they will be available and functioning immediately in Italian too.
Google also specified that long message texts summarized by the new AI feature they will not be stored in Google servers, as well as they will not be used for the purposes of training machine learning models. We will return to update you once the functionality is working for everyone.
