A few years have now passed since then Google has formalized the acquisition of Fitbita leading company in the wearable devices sector, which has launched some of the best smartbands and smartwatches over the years.
This acquisition now becomes even more visible, with Fitbit about to change its name. This is what emerges from the company’s official website, which has been updated in the last few hours.
Google Fitbit is the new name that characterizes the Google division dedicated to wearable devices. In addition to the name change we also see a font updatewhich is now consistent with the Google Sans which characterizes all Google products now.
Google Fitbit is therefore for all intents and purposes one of several brands with which Google markets hardware, such as Pixels And Nest. On the other hand, some of Fitbit’s products have also been available through the official Google store for some time now.
But the news they are not finished: along with the new name a interface update that could come for the Fitbit app.
This is the section dedicated to sleep monitoring.
As you can see from them screenshot in the gallery, the new page dedicated to sleep monitoring shows some changes in sleep time statistics, with the tabs they should match Day, Week, Month And Year. We currently don’t have the card Day.
An update also arrives for the page it shows sleep patterns during the previous night, with more information on the quality of sleep throughout the night. Finally, the with page should also be updated the animal that is associated to the user in terms of their sleep profile.
It remains to be understood when it will come for everyone this new interface for sleep monitoring. We will update you again as soon as we know more.
